Paid Undergraduate Research Opportunities!

I got this information via email, so check out more details below:

The Center for Behavioral Neuroscience would like to announce two exciting undergraduate research programs for 2012 – BRAIN and NET/work.

BRAIN 2012, our undergraduate summer research program (Behavioral Research Advancements In Neuroscience), consists of a 10-week neuroscience summer research and education experience.  We are looking for undergraduate candidates who are enthusiastic, hard-working, detail-oriented, and who want to engage in cutting edge neuroscience research.  Accepted Fellows will be working at Spelman, Morehouse, Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory, Georgia Tech, or Georgia State. Some of the students will be engaged in research at the molecular or cellular level in laboratories, others will be working with small animals and some may be collecting data and doing research at outdoor field sites. Students are paid a stipend for the summer and provided housing at Emory University.

NET/work (Neuroscience Education and Training) is a two-year, paid research assistantship that is open to sophomore students from Georgia State University, Agnes Scott College, Emory University, and Spelman College.  Students begin the program by participating in BRAIN 2012 and continue their laboratory research experience at Georgia State or Emory through their senior year.  In addition to gaining hands-on research experience through one-on-one mentoring, students are provided with funding to travel to local and national conferences to present their research, participate in monthly professional development workshops, and travel to partner universities for additional training the summer following their junior year.  Visit http://www.cbn-atl.org/education/NETwork.shtml for more information.  Applications are accepted through the BRAIN program.

There is an online application that will be available November 1, 2011. Other application details can be found at: http://www.cbn-atl.org/education/brain.shtml.

The deadline for applications is January 13, 2012.

Good luck!
